Come with usYouth exchange

“I am not a racist but …” was a project funded by Erasmus + for the promotion of intercultural education among young people, born from the need to contain the growing hatred towards migrants who arrive in Europe and reflecting on the hidden meaning of the now famous phrase “I’m not a racist, but …”

Often people are unaware of the real facts, what is behind the stories of migrants and what they have faced to reach Europe. Through the methodology of creative and collective narrative, we have spread the stories lived by migrants in order to encourage the integration process, promoting intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity.

Objectives:

– Increase youth emancipation

– Improve foreign language skills

– Enhancement of intercultural knowledge

– Greater motivation to take part in non-formal training

– Creation of a booklet

Between 5 and 12 July 2018 in Itri, the project developed its main activity, a youth exchange that featured 36 young Europeans from 6 different countries. During the exchange, the participants lived in close contact with each other and developing ideas and methods to encourage inclusion. The activities ended with a public event to present the results.
